Children & Young People’s Service
Our children and young people’s service offers support to victims of child sexual abuse, their siblings, and their caregivers in an approach that best fits their age and needs.
We provide face to face therapy sessions for children and young people in London. In addition, we provide online support to parents to strengthen parent-child relationships and improve communication through child led play.
Support for you and your children
We know that child sexual abuse impacts the whole family. It can cause relationships to become difficult or disconnected, and families can become divided. Children and young people who experience sexual abuse, and their siblings, may be left with feelings that they don’t understand, such as anger, guilt, or feeling responsible for what has happened.
We offer therapeutic support for children affected by sexual abuse as well as counselling for young people as they transition into adulthood. This support is also available to siblings, even if they have not experienced direct abuse themselves. Support for children and young people is delivered in person, from our London office.
In addition, we offer an online parent child relational play programme for parents and carers; this focuses on the importance of secure attachment, verbal and non-verbal communication, and relationship strengthening through child focused and child led play.
As part of our ethos of supporting the whole family, we ask that parents or carers of children accessing our services are also receiving their own counselling from We Stand.
