Therapeutic Parenting
This workshop, held over 2 consecutive weeks, is designed to support parents and caregivers whose children have experienced child sexual abuse. Grounded in empathy, trauma-informed practice and therapeutic parenting principles, these sessions create a safe, non-judgmental space for learning, reflection, and connection.
What This Workshop Covers:
Understanding the Impact of CSA: Explore how trauma affects your child’s behaviour, emotions, relationships, and development.
The Parent's Experience: Acknowledge the emotional impact on you as a parent or caregiver, and recognise your own trauma and responses.
Therapeutic Parenting Approaches: Learn practical, compassionate techniques for responding to trauma-related behaviours, building emotional safety, and rebuilding trust.
Boundaries and Safety: Understand how to set nurturing yet firm boundaries that help your child feel secure and protected.
Regulation and Connection: Develop tools for emotional co-regulation and communication that promote healing and resilience.
Reducing Isolation: Connect with other parents who share similar experiences in a supportive, confidential setting.
The workshop recognises that there is no "one size fits all" in healing from CSA, and provides a space to explore approaches that are respectful, responsive, and centred on the needs of the child.
