We Stand  is a registered charity  that provides therapeutic support and wellbeing services. We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy.

How we collect your information

We collect personal information through our helpline, assessments, support sessions, website cookies, and device data. If you need to provide us with personal information about someone else, please contact us first to ensure you have a lawful basis to do so and for guidance on how to inform the individual concerned.

What information we collect

When you contact us, we may collect and store the following personal information:

  • Your name, contact details (email, phone, address)

  • Relevant information you provide through our helpline,  in a referral form or during assessment

  • Any communication you send to us

Why we collect your information and how we use it

We collect your data to:

  • Respond to your initial contact and/or referral

  • Place you on referral list

  • Contact you with updates about your therapy or support options while you wait

  • Offer you wellbeing resources, workshops, seminars and Legal and general advice service

  • Deliver safe, appropriate support

  • Comply with legal or safeguarding requirements

Lawful basis for processing

We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Legitimate interests: to provide support services and respond to your referral

  • Legal obligation: where required for safeguarding or regulatory reasons

  • Consent: in some cases, we may ask for your explicit consent (e.g., for sharing anonymised data in reports or testimonials)

How long we keep your information

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for our work and to meet legal or professional obligations. Typically, this is  7 years after your last contact with us. After this time, your information will be securely deleted or anonymised.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or share your data for marketing, or for any other purpose

We may share information if required by law or safeguarding concerns, under the following circumstances, 

  • you give us explicit permission to do so.

  • We have safeguarding concerns for you or your family

  • If required to do so as part of a legal court order

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you

  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Request deletion of your data (where legally possible)

  • Object to or restrict how your data is used

  • Withdraw consent (where relevant)

  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information based on our legitimate interests, and while we consider your request—which we may deny for legal reasons—you can ask us to restrict its use.
